Captivating semi-abstract of a mountainous landscape, with the eye being drawn to the light beyond. Julia Swaby's landscapes are highly symbolic renditions of spirit and hope. The atmosphere of the work is mystical, suggesting something beyond the natural. The palette is warm and comforting. Contrasting with the soft light, which was rendered with ivory and no harsh white tones, are flecks of darker colours, perhaps suggesting the overcoming of challenges.
